the graveyard in my driveway
Cars suck when they don't work. Our van -happily named- "sweet ride" is dead. So now I have no vehicle. We have another van that we got for a killer deal -Thank you Shelly- that Matt is almost done fixing up. I am so grateful to have a sweetie that is handsome and handy. It has been killer to have no vehicle. My family is awesome to be helping me with rides this week. Big thanks to you all!

I can't believe it has been so long since I posted. Matt and I have been doing P90X for the past 3 weeks. They are one hour to one and a half hour work outs so I am exhausted. I have lost 5lbs, and Matt has lost 20. (I hate loosing weight so slowly.) With trying to eat better I have been cooking more so my house is a disaster. I melted a crayon in the dryer so I am terrified to see what clothes I have ruined. Tomorrow won't be much better because it will be so hectic. I have so many errands to run, I may not be home until I pick up the kids from school. Thank goodness Matt is making Thai Basil. I can have some time off from cooking maybe I can get some laundry folded.
O.k. I know this post is boring but here is something to think about. Last year it got out just how bad the drinking and the partying is in the Olympic village. I was wondering if that was why the couple skaters kept falling. Maybe they would do better if they didn't party quite so much. My brother in law said that when the Olympic's were in SLC the Russians brought a truck of vodka in every night. That is a lot of booze. I wonder if they realize that the water here is safe to drink?

Keep on Keepin on
Today Matt stayed home from work. Which is awesome but I have found myself not wanting to do my writing today. I want to but I keep finding excuses to hang out with him. He is watching some mechanical show right now so that helps me want to write more.
I think part of what is going on is that my writing this story is coming to an end. I am almost done with the first draft. I will miss thinking about my characters and hearing their words flow from my brain. I know that sounds crazy. I have always hated goodbyes and I am trying to get over the mental block of this good bye.
I feel like a mental person having such an attachment to fictitious people, any editor I am sure will tear my story apart but I guess that's life. Good thing Matt understands when I talk to him about guess what "Lizzie did today?" I am so lucky so have such a supportive husband.

Writing and Saftey Training from my favorite TV show
I am very much an all or nothing person. It is a weakness I have, I admit it. When I sit down to write I ignore everything for the whole day and then I keep Matt up with all the click click of my keyboard. It getting to the point that I have to say ENOUGH! and spend time cleaning and giving the kids and Matt attention. I have decided to find a happy medium.
I have been reading Steven Kings book on writing. (I know, Steven King right? I can't even watch one of those movies let alone read his books but the man can write a good story.) I have really liked it. Except for the language. He writes 2000 words a day as a goal but suggests 1000 to start with. That was too easy so I have been doing 2000. It was pretty easy once I got in the Zone. There is also a bunch of technical stuff about being careful of passive writing etc. that I have been working on as well.
Annette, I have been thinking about my scenes. I find that I have been doing that instinctively but it is awesome to use the info you gave us on Saturday. If I don't like a scene or it doesn't seem to flow I think What is the scene question?... What is this scene accomplishing? So Thank you.
One problem I did notice was that after being at the computer for a few hours my wrists killed. I told the kids on the way home from school that my eyes hurt and I was having a hard time keeping them open so I was going to lay down for a minute when we got home. They made a very astute observation. Emma said "Then why are you driving." "Because no one else can" I answered. So for every ones safety I am going to manage my computer time.
I watched an episode of the Office last night where they were going over safety procedures for computers. Taking a 10 minute break every hour was recommended. Eureka! Toby is right. So My housework will get done 10 minutes at a time.
Oh if anyone from my class is reading this. Ebay has some good deals on those Alphasmarts. I am going to ask for one for my birthday. Hint, hint Matt.

First Day
I haven't written anything in a while so I thought I would jot down a few notes.
I started a creative writing class today. I wasn't sure what to expect. I was nervous. Not sure why? I guess I felt that everyone would think I was a freak because, sometimes feel like I am crazy when I write. I hear the story in my head. When I go to write I tell my husband that I am going to go spend some time with my imaginary friends. I was pleasantly surprised when in the class someone else mentioned that they feel that as adults their characters are their imaginary friends. As we talked about the writing process, plots, outlines etc. I felt like there is truly nothing like being around other writers.
As Anne Shirley said “Kindred Spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. Its splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.”

Meanest mom ever
You know your kids love you when they tell you your the meanest mom ever. Then in the next 5 minutes say I love you mom. It is funny. So the evil germs got us and we are sick. So I told my 4 year old he couldn't go outside to play in the freshly fallen snow. Yes I said snow. - in October- YUCK I like how Emily described them. Germs are Satan they want everyone to be miserable. I cracked up. She keeps me sane.
I have to go shopping I have put it off and we are completely out of everything. I am not feeling tip top but I know it will hit hard tomorrow. So I only have one funny thing today. Yesterday A my 4 year old was getting into the fake blood for A my 11 year old's costume. I told him exasperatingly "No blood" I grabbed the tube from his hands and rolled my eyes." Stay out of the blood." I laughed at him and he looked at me like I was crazy. Never in all my life did I figure I would have to tell my kids to stay out of blood. Oh the sweet sounds of Halloween.

Hi to all
Welcome to my blog. Ok this is a first for me. I wanted to keep in touch with my parents who are in Italy give them an easy way to see what is going on. Also thought it would be fun to keep a list of funny things that are always popping in my head.
Dr. Seuss said "From near to far, from here to there, funny things are everywhere." since I have become a mom I say them more and more. So I'm watching TV and a commercial comes on for yogurt. All the women were eating the delicious yogurt and licking the lids, and putting the lids in an envelope. All I could think of was please mail us your germs. All I could envision was the workers in bio-suits or passing the envelopes threw a sanitation device. I mean really would you want the job of counting the gross licked lids?
So I had fun today researching the redwood forest. So beautiful. As soon as I can get a reliable car I want to take Matt and the kids. I will put some pics I have if I can figure out how to put in pictures in.
